14 - Advance Hazmat Life Support for Medical Officers Course (1 Week) 4  - 8 Dec 2017 (10.00  - 17.30) 

COURSE OBJECTIVE
To train Medical Officers in organizing medical operations during mass casualty incidents and providing assistance to local Emergency Responders for responding to incidents involving Hazardous Materials.

ENABLING OBJECTIVE
On completion of training, the participants will be able to perform the following:
• Understand the threat of HAZMAT
• Organize Medical Operations against HAZMAT
• Care & Treatment modalities Involving hazardous substances
• Hospital Preparedness for HAZMAT

LEVEL OF PARTICIPANTS
The program is designed for Medical officers of Civil Defence Casualty Services, Armed Forces Medical Services, CAPF Medical Services, Railway Medical Service, Public Sector Industries, Government / Private Hospitals and Medical Department of States.

JOINING INSTRUCTIONS

(The nominating authorities are requested to forward one copy of joining instructions to all those nominated on the respective courses)

LOCATION:
The National Civil Defence College campus lies 1.5 kms from the Main Railway Station and 8.5 kms from the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport. The Administrative complex & Hostel of the college are located in Civil Lines, west of Hislop College on Temple road.

ARRIVAL:
The trainee officers must arrive a day prior to the commencement of the course and report to the Hostel Warden. Those reporting late shall not be accepted and sent back to their respective organizations.

ACCOMMODATION:
Moderate level of accommodation is available in the College Hostel. One for Gazetted Officers and another for other ranks. On arrival, Hostel Warden will allot the accommodation to the trainee officers. Officers coming from Industries/ Govt. undertakings can stay in local Hotels if they wish and have the permission from their own Department. The accommodation rental charges are as follows:

(a) Rs.7.00 per day for single occupation.
(b) Rs.3.50 per day for double occupation.

NOTE:
1. Gazetted Officers coming for Courses will be provided furnished accommodation (Non AC) in the hostel.
2. It may please be noted that officers attending courses at this college are not permitted to bring their FAMILIES with them, as we do not have family accommodation.
3. The other ranks trainee officers are provided a cot, mattress and bed sheet, however, they must bring blanket etc.

DINING:
The College Dining facility is being run on contract basis and dining in the College trainee officer’s mess is compulsory for Hostel occupants. The present catering charges for meals provided are;

Disaster Management Courses, Incident Management and Command System, Advance Hazmat Life Support course. Rs.220/-per day

Civil Defence Instructors, TOT on CD & Rad., EOCM, EDR, UXB, Flood/Cyclone Disaster Responders, Search and Rescue, Auxiliary Fire Fighting Course, Communication for CD Trainers, & other courses Rs. 140/-per day

(The Rates for catering are liable to change in case of fresh contract undertaken)

PHYSICAL TRAINING:
The trainee officers undergoing Civil Defence Instructors, Flood/Cyclone Disaster Responders, Auxiliary Fire Fighting, Advanced Search and Rescue & Earthquake Disaster Response Courses are required to attend Physical Training (P.T) in the morning of each working day. The nominees must be in possession of P.T. uniform i.e. white half sleeve shirt, white shorts, white nylon socks and white canvas shoes.

MEDICAL FITNESS:
The nominating authority must ensure that only medically fit candidates will be nominated for various courses at National Civil Defence College. All candidates must carry a “Medical Fitness Certificate” from a Registered Medical practitioner. Departments will be held responsible for any medically unfit candidate deputed for any course at National Civil Defence College.

DEPARTURE:
The trainee officers deputed for training courses at this college will be required to clear all their dues, well in time, prior to their departure on termination of the course. Hence, they should be in possession of adequate funds. Departure of participants will be effected only after 1700 Hrs.

SPORTS AND RECREATION:
Sports facilities like, Table Tennis, Carom, Chess, Volley Ball and Badminton are made available in College Campus. Each trainee is required to pay Rs.50/- in case of a course of 15-day duration or more and Rs.30/- if the course is of a lesser duration for these facilities.

TRANSPORTS:
Trainee Officers will make their own arrangements of transport from Airport/Railway Station to the Institute Campus.
